Driver

part time, flexible schedule
Salary: $16.50 to $20.00 per hour, depends on experience

KC Can Compost is an innovative enterprise working to improve the social and environmental landscapes of our city. Our mission is to provide Kansas City businesses and residents an easy and systematic way to manage their food waste through composting. Position would require approximately 25-30 hours per week. Flexible schedule. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete food waste collection routes in the Kansas City area in the company vehicle (Ford F550 with attached collection unit and hydraulic cart lift)

  • Follow route directions to ensure efficiency

  • Drive safely at all times

  • Pull and push wheeled carts and lift smaller receptacles

  • Perform pre-shift and post-shift vehicle inspections

  • Weigh-in on scales at compost facility

  • Rinse out dump body after unloading

Licensing / Certifications Required:

  • No CDL required but must have or be able to obtain a valid Class E driver’s license (also known as a For-Hire license)

  • Clean driving record

  • Must be able to pass a Drug Test and Background Check

Experience:

  • Previous driving required

Wage:

  • $16.50 to $20.00 per hour, depends on experience
