“I just wanted to thank you for publishing the article about the local businesses that compost kitchen scraps. Since moving to an apartment a year ago, we had no way to compost. But then I read the article and we have been using KC Can’s services and could not be more pleased. Thank you for such a helpful article!”

How it Works in Your Kitchen

With a compost collection service like KC Can Compost, residential composting in an urban setting—even in an apartment—is easy (and doesn’t stink at all)!

Chop It

Chop, dice, crack and cook your food. Anything that doesn’t go directly into your recipe (or mouth) can go into your compost can.

Drop It

Drop your food scraps, food soiled paper, and plant scraps into your compost can.

Please line your chosen compost receptacle(s) with compostable liners. Lining helps ensure cleanliness of the compost can. If you need more liners, you may purchase them on your customer portal!

Tip It

When your compost bin is full, please tie off your liners and tip it directly into your community can at one of our convenient drop-off locations.

DO NOT pull the bag out of your can as the liners may have started to decompose.

That’s it!
