Instructor & Employment Specialist - Full-Time
Position Overview:
The Green Core Training (GCT) provides environmental literacy and work readiness training to people in the Kansas City region using a nationally recognized curriculum, and then helps program graduates find green jobs that are suited to their education, skills, and interests.
There are five phases to the GCT. First, we enable agencies and organizations to refer prospective students into the program. Second, through interviews, we determine which prospective students to admit. Third, we run the multi-week training, bringing community partners and employers into the classroom to speak to the students. Fourth, we assist program graduates in determining which jobs are of interest to them and then find and apply for those jobs. Fifth, we work with employers to facilitate the hiring of our graduates

Work with GCT students and graduates on the following: resumes, job searches, applications, interview preparation, and providing references or letters of recommendation to green employers they have applied to.
Follow up with the graduates at least at the 30, 60, 90, 180, and 365 day marks after their graduation to make sure they have what they need to succeed and document what they are doing.
