Our Goal
Our goal is to raise $9,000 to purchase a new compost truck.
Help us meet our match! Mid America Regional Council has provided us with a generous matching grant for the purchase of a new compost truck. We must raise $9,000 to hit our matching goal.
What Impact will a New Compost Truck Make?
A new compost truck will allow us to collect more organic waste on a weekly basis, save compostable items from the landfill, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and create more meaningful, living-wage jobs for those in need!
Methane is a potent greenhouse gas—about 28 times more powerful than carbon dioxide at warming the Earth. Global warming is causing sea levels to rise and oceans to be warmer, giving way to longer more intense droughts and more intense weather events. These events not only threaten wildlife and delicate ecosystems but they impact human life. Environmental Justice is about ensuring that all people have equal access to resources that facilitate a safe and healthy living environment.
How can we reach our goal?
We will be hosting activities and collecting donations all month long in order to make our match of $9,000 on December 1 - Giving Tuesday.
